the map:

proposes an environment which the user can inhabit: i.e. the user's body and bodily possibilities (self/other) are pre-configured. the user is therefore the apolitical consumer. the map is the body abstract inverted.

disconnects the user from the present actual environment and posits both an abstract global present/past and defined possibilities of a future: i.e. the user trades in the present environ for a (future) abstract truth.

is an abstraction which inherently limits, no matter who it is used by. systems of power do not like to have their maps exposed because it exposes their limits (if one has properly figured the parmeters). the map of power indicates how possibilities are controlled and power re-creates itself (stability and expansion).

to be used, therefore, should be regarded only as a temporary plane of self/other, body/space, vehicle/route, which can be completely reconfigured at each moment of actual action. the map/body is only a temporary vehicle of understanding to be constantly abandoned through leaps of faith and action which are not possible per the map/plan. we have to learn how not to follow the map.
